Romero is a supporter of welcoming refugees and immigrants and of rebuilding a robust refugee resettlement program. Angela was born and raised in Tooele, Utah. She attended the University of Utah where she earned a bachelor’s degree in political science and later a master’s degree in public administration. She is committed to working on sexual assault legislation and ensuring justice for survivors. Her work includes sponsoring the Prison Rape Elimination Act and the Statewide Sexual Assault and Interpersonal Violence Prevention Program appropriations request of 3.6 million dollars. Angela also sponsored legislation creating the Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girl Task Force in Utah. She was also the chief sponsor of HB200 which mandated the testing of all sexual assault kits and funding for the Utah State Crime Lab.
