Congresswoman Joyce Beatty is a supporter of welcoming refugees and immigrants and building a robust refugee resettlement program. Beatty has served in the US Congress since her election in 2012. She is the Chairwoman of the Congressional Black Caucus and serves on the select Financial Services Committee and as co-chair of the Diversity and Inclusion Subcommittee. She is also a member of the Housing, Community Development, and Insurance Subcommittees. Prior to her service in the U.S. House of Representatives, Congresswoman Beatty was Senior Vice President of Outreach and Engagement at The Ohio State University and a member in the Ohio House of Representatives for five terms. In Congress, Beatty’s record on immigration and refugees has made her a consistent supporter of welcoming communities of new Americans.
